One Year Down…Eternity to Go!

Well, we made it! One year. There were moments where I wasn’t sure how we would pull through, but on our first year anniversary I remember thinking: “being married to Kendall is the best.” And I honestly feel that way everyday.

For our anniversary, Kendall took me into Salt Lake where we ate at the restaurant we ate at on the second day of our marriage before we flew out to Mexico. It is a little place called “Eva’s.” It’s a total hipster joint, and we were definitely the only people at the place not drinking, but it was a lot of fun. Kendall and I ended up talking to two guys next to us from San Francisco and told them a lot about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Their eyes lit up with excitement when we told them that we were Mormon…it’s like they hit the jack pot…they found Mormon’s in SLC. It was an awesome conversation.

We then went to a hotel where we spent a relaxing evening. The next day we went to the outdoor retailer’s expo where we walked away with swag…for our dog.

Speaking of: we have a new addition to the family. Meet Leonardo. He is named after both the painter and Ninja Turtle. He is a HANDFUL, but brings so much happiness into our home.

Everyone has only told me that marriage just keeps getting better. I can say with all of my heart that that is 100% true. I love Kendall Tingey more and more everyday.

Dear Old Davis

“Were up to snuff we never ever ever bluff?”…. ‘Nough said…

Kendall Davis

Kendall proudly wore this little number to school the other day. It brought back some good old Davis Dart memories.

This is also a little shout out to my brother, Scotty. He is a forever track star from Davis, and I’m guessing this wind-breaker dates back closer to his day than Kendall’s and mine. (Kendall got it at some sale at Davis one year…).

A ‘Rocky’ to Call My Own

Kendall has taken up boxing at the gym. He loves it and may I add he looks both very attractive and very scary hitting the heavy bag. Shall I call him Kendall Balboa?

Here is an incognito shot I took while on the bike watching American Idol (that’s more my style workout).

I’m so glad I have a husband that will help me stay active and in shape.

Dry Erase Love

So, my husband and I love dry erase markers. I love them for making To-Do lists and calendaring and he loves them for making love notes and pictures.

I found this on our bedroom mirror one night…It’s Kendall and I..can’t you tell?

windowThis was from a series of “Secret Messages left on the inside of my car windows.
I still have the “You’re Beautiful” up after about two weeks.

Valentines Day

With a lot of persuasion, Kendall got me to spend a bit of money so we could go out to dinner on our first Valentines Day as a Mr. and Mrs.

Deciding where to go is always a tough one, I wanted Chinese…and well, he didn’t. But, we ended up settling on Vietnamese food. Turns out there is a place right down the street from our humble abode. It ended up being a lot of fun, and the food wasn’t half bad. Biggest bonus: our meal was only $13.00 for both of us AND I had left overs. So, I thought I’d be generous, and I gave the 15 year old and 12 year old who happened to be working a whoppin’ $5.00 tip.

Happy Valentines Sweet Heart. Thank you for talking me into going out to dinner. It’s one of our favorite things to do and I’m so glad we got to do it after so long.

I’ll Never Let Go

With a weekend in Moab and a husband making me dinner I am one lucky gal.

This weekend, Kendall and I went to Moab to visit my sister Lisa. She is living there and working at Dead Horse Point State Park.We stayed at her place (which felt a little bit like sleeping in an ice box) and she showed us the sites. Lisa had a great time being a tour guide and taking lots of pictures of us! She is a great photographer, not to mention the “hostess with the mostess”. She fed us like Kings.

It was a great trip, but I had a little anxiety on the way home. Kendall, however, came to the rescue once again and told me to relax tonight while he makes dinner. Gosh I love him. If it came to it, I’d let Kendall share my raft with me in the middle of the freezing Atlantic…rather than let him sink to the bottom of the ocean. (Just one-up’d ya there Rose).

p.s. He folded my napkin into a heart. (He just said: “That’s right I did.”)
